Job Title : Senior Geologist

Location: Uganda (Field & Office-Based)

Department : Geology/Projects/Mining Department

Reporting : GGM/GM/Directors

Academic Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.

Experience : 15+ years of progressive experience.

Age Bar : Preferably under the age of 45

Desired Qualities 

1. Experience in Uganda or East Africa strongly preferred.
2. Strong structural geology and geological interpretation skills.
3. Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

1. Lead geological exploration programs for iron ore across various licenses in Uganda.
2. Conduct and oversee detailed geological mapping, sampling, trenching, and core logging activities.
3. Develop and refine geological models using both historical and current datasets.
4. Interpret geophysical and geochemical data to define drill targets and resource potential.
5. Supervise and manage drilling programs, ensuring quality control and efficient sampling.
6. Oversee data collection, QA/QC protocols, and geotechnical logging.
7. Prepare technical reports, resource estimations, and feasibility assessments in line with international standards.
8. Collaborate with mining engineers, metallurgists, and environmental consultants on project development.
9. Ensure compliance with Uganda’s mining regulations, environmental standards, and community engagement practices.
10. Train and mentor junior geologists and local field teams.
11. Represent the company in meetings with government agencies, local communities, and stakeholders.
